INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

The European currency remains under pressure this week and continues its decline against the dollar; i.e. -0.30%, from 1.181 to 1.177. The European currency is suffering the consequences of the deteriorating health situation as investors turn to safe havens.

Concerns about the "delta" variant and accelerating inflation are gaining ground. In the United States, weekly jobless claims unexpectedly rose in one week to 419K from 368K the week before.
