| TUNISIA | FOREIGN TRADE | The trade deficit down 32% at the end of September 2020
At the end of September 2020, Tunisia's exports fell by 16.6% to TND 27,537.0 Mn. Likewise, imports declined by 21.3% to TND 37,673.4 Mn. The trade deficit thus dropped by 31.7% to TND -10,136.5 Mn, corresponding to a coverage rate of 73.1%. This shows an improvement of 4.1 pts.

According to the National Agency for Statistics and Demography, Senegal's exports stood at FCFA 149.4 Bn in August 2020, down 11.8% from the previous month. Similarly, imports declined by 10.6% during the same period to FCFA 293.7 Bn. In this context, the trade deficit stands at FCFA -144.3 Bn in August 2020 against FCFA -159.3 Bn in the previous month. At the end of August 2020, the trade deficit reached FCFA -1.388.6 Bn against FCFA -1.394.1 Bn during the same period of the year 2019.
