| MOROCCO | BUSINESS CREATION | A decline of 18% at the end of April 2022
According to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), business creations stood at 32,510 companies at the end of April 2022 against 39,643 during the same period of the previous year, i.e. a decrease of 18%.
| WAEMU | KEY RATE | BCEAO raised its key rates by 25 BPS
The Monetary Policy Committee (CPM) of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) held its second ordinary meeting for the year 2022 in early June. It decided to raise its key rates by 25 BPS. Thus, the minimum bid rate for liquidity injection tenders as well as the marginal lending window interest rate have been raised to 2.25% and 4.25% respectively, as of June 16th 2022. Meanwhile, the required reserve coefficient applicable to the Union’s banks remains unchanged at 3.0%.
