| MOROCCO | HPS | Strategic partnership with Serquo

In a press release, HPS and Serquo, a leading software and technology company, announced a long-term strategic partnership to provide new payment technologies. HPS collaboration with Serquo will allow the two companies to exchange and maximize their technological capacity, which will allow HPS to further expand its partnerships and presence in Europe and more specifically in Spain.

| MOROCCO | BANK CARDS | The number of transactions up 41% in H1 2021

According to the CMI, the number of payment transactions carried out by bank cards amounted to 48,271,477 in H1 2021, up 41.0% compared to the same period of the previous year. Likewise, the amount of these transactions stands at MAD 18.5 Bn, up 34.5% during the same period.

| WAEMU | INFLATION | Prices up 3.3% y-o-y in May 2021
According to the Central Bank of West African States, the inflation rate in WAEMU member countries stood at 3.3% in May 2021, year-on-year. This is mainly due to the increase in the prices of the “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” (+2.2%), “Clothing” (+0.1%), “Housing” (+0.3%), “Furniture” (+0.1%), as well as “Transport” services (+0.1%).
