| MOROCCO | CEMENT | Domestic consumption up 8.8% in January 2022
In January 2022, cement sales increased by 8.8% to 1,128,579 tons against 1,037,006 tons during the same month of the previous year.
| WAEMU | INFLATION | Prices up 6.0% y-o-y in December 2021
According to the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), the inflation rate in WAEMU member countries stood at 6.0% in December 2021, year-on-year. This was mainly due to the increase in the prices of "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" (+4.7%), "Housing" (+0.5%), "Transport" (+0.2%) , “Clothing” (+0.1%) as well as “Health” services (+0.1%).
