| MOROCCO | TOURISM | Sector’s figures in 2023
In 2023, tourist arrivals amounted to 14,524,727, up 34% compared to the previous year. At the same time, overnight stays at classified accommodation establishments stood at 25,640,602 during the same period, recording an increase of 35%. In this context, the average room occupancy rate reached 48% in 2023, i.e. an improvement of 7 points.
| TUNISIA | KEY RATE | BCT kept its key rate unchanged at 8%
Following its meeting held on February 2nd 2024, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Tunisia decided to keep the key rate unchanged at 8%. Note that BCT forecasts an inflation rate of 7.3% on average in 2024 compared to 9.3% in 2023.
