| MOROCCO | BANK CARDS | The number of transactions up 34% in March 2022
In March 2022, the number of bank card transactions in Morocco stood at 11,463,505, i.e. an increase of 34.4% compared to the same period of 2021. In this context, the transactions’ amount settled at MAD 4.8 Bn, up 40.9%.
| GABON | TELECOMMUNICATION | Sector’s revenue up 2% in 2021
According to the Ministry of Economy, the telecommunication sector’s revenue amounts to FCFA 219.4 Bn in 2021 against FCFA 216.2 Bn a year earlier, up 1.5% year-on-year. This is mainly explained by the 3.3% increase in the number of subscribers to 3.176 million in 2021. In more detail, the number of subscribers to fixed lines jumped by 34.8% during the same period against only 3.0% for the mobile phone.
