At the end of August 2024, tourist arrivals amounted to 11,813,661 tourists, up 16% compared to the same period of the previous year. Likewise, overnight stays at classified accommodation establishments stood at 18,707,507, recording an increase of 7% y-o-y. In this context, the average room occupancy rate reached 50% at the end of August 2024, up 1 point.
| TUNISIA | FOREIGN TRADE | Reduction of the trade deficit at the end of September 2024
At the end of September 2024, Tunisia's exports rose by 2.1% to TND 46,404.6 Mn while imports slightly increased by 0.8% to TND 59,901.5 Mn. In this context, the trade deficit went from TND -13,976.1 Mn at the end of September 2023 to TND -13,496.9 at the end of September 2024. Finally, the coverage rate stood at 77.5%, i.e. an improvement of 1.0 point compared to the same peri-od of the previous year.
