In December 2024, cement sales jumped by 15.2% year-on-year to 1,292,743 tons. In 2024, the national cement consumption stood at 13,692,752 tons, recording an increase of 9.5% compared to the previous year.
| MOROCCO | SURVEY | The production capacity utilization rate down to 78% in November 2024
The results of Bank Al-Maghrib’s monthly economic survey show a decrease in production and an increase in sales during the month of November 2024. To this end, the production capacity utilization rate (TUC) declined by 1pt to 78%. Meanwhile, orders showed a decrease during the same period while the order books would have settled at a level below normal.
| WAEMU | INFLATION | An inflation rate of 2.5% in November 2024
According to the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), the inflation rate in the WAEMU region stood at 2.5% in November 2024 compared to 3.4% in October 2024. This decline is mainly due to the slowdown in food prices during the same period.
